Horse fans and riders alike are saddling up in preparation for this year’s mane arena event.

The Bartlett Park Rodeo Grounds will play host to Dan Steers and the Double Dan Horsemanship team in what is their first evening performance of their tour.

The man behind one half of the team, Dan Steers, said it will be an exciting performance that both entertains and educates.

“We don’t only perform but we also help to teach throughout the evening and help our audience get as much as they can out of the night,” Mr Steers said.

Dan Steers and the Double Dan Horsemanship team featured on Australia’s Got Talent in 2011.

“Myself and my good friend and now business partner also named Dan, hence the Double Dan, first started performing together many years ago and now we’ve grown entertainment into education,” Mr Steers said.

The show, which is back by popular demand, is catering to a smaller audience.

“Individual horses as well teams of horses will perform tricks and there will be a number of highlights and speciality acts throughout the event, including tricks with fire,” Mr Steers said.

Volunteer Kimberly Dennis said the team guarantees a theatrical performance.

“The horses have been trained to be very obedient and sit down like dogs and do many amazing tricks,” Ms Dennis said.

“This is a one-time opportunity and is very special because nothing like this ever comes to Townsville.”

Tickets are still available for tonight’s performance via Ticketek.
